This is my first Halloween in Austin, Texas and I could not be more excited! Now that I’ve finally moved I’m looking forward to celebrating Austin Halloween 2025!
I was pleasantly excited to find there are so many Halloween things to do in Austin, I couldn’t wait to write this post. The city is full of festive ways to celebrate Halloween.
You’ll find the coolest scary movies in Austin, haunted houses, and parties at your favorite local bars. Look no further for what to do for Halloween 2025 in Austin!
Austin Halloween Events
1. Oast House ATX

2. Pumpkin Nights Austin 2025
When: September 2025
Pumpkin Night Austin is back again this year in 2025! Halloween in Austin TX isn’t complete unless you’ve been here. This year the event starts at 6pm and ends at 11pm.
3. Lefty’s Shop of Horrors
When: October 2025
Lefty’s Brick Bar is East Austin’s best neighborhood patio bar. Come on over for the best frosty cocktails, specialty pizzas, and tasty sandwiches.
They have Halloween inspired Instagrammable backdrops throughout the establishment. Lefty’s is a first come first serve and furry friends are also welcome.
During October, every Wednesday they’ll be hosting tarot readings. On October 25, 2023, come and play some Halloween Bingo too! This is definitely one of the top Austin Halloween events to look forward to!

4. Austin Moxy
When: October 2025
Let’s go ghouls! Because we’re creeping right on in to this awesome Austin, Texas Halloween event at the Moxy Austin-University! Hang out to watch their ‘Sunday Scaries’ movie night every Sunday, indulge in free tarot readings, and try their specialty themed cocktails.
5. Panic at the Paramount
When: October 2025
If you’re a fan of spooky and cute Halloween films, then this event is for you. They’ll be showing flicks like 28 Days Later, Hocus Pocus, and the OG Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Check out the scary movie schedule at the Paramount Theater in Austin.
6. Scholz Garten
When: October 2025
The Scholz Garden is the longest operating Biergarten in America as well as the oldest operating business in Texas.
This year, AustOberfest is back and bigger than ever! Featuring sausage & beer samplings, live music, and much more for only $20!
7. Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Party
When: October 2025
Indulge in an evening of mystery, laughter, and delicious dining at the Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Party hosted by Hotel Viata. Presented by the renowned Dinner Detective troupe, you will go on a journey into the world of interactive comedy murder mystery

8. Blue Starlite Drive In

9. House of Torment
The event ends on November 4, 2023. The House of Torment has been voted the scariest haunted house in America!
This is definitely among the top Halloween events in Austin if you’re looking to be scared silly. You have to be 21 to enter and they will be checking IDs.
10. Austin Ghost Tours
I love supporting small businesses. They offer Downtown Austin Ghost Tours, Paranormal Investigations at Pioneer Farms and Oakwood Cemetery Tours.
10. Freaky Deaky Festival
When: October 2025
Celebrate this Hallows Eve and commit yourself to Freaky Deaky with two days of dancing on the dark side, October 28-29th, at Travis County Exposition Center in Austin, Texas.
Their freaky celebration welcomes many of today’s most sinister selectors across several stages with booming bass heard for miles.

11. Electric Shuffle Halloween Drag Brunch
When: October 2025
Electric Shuffle is a space offering high-tech bar games, spectacular interior design, first-class hospitality, and delicious food and cocktails. The morning will feature performances from local queens, costume contests, giveaways, and DJ sets.
12. Fairmont Austin Halloween Drag Brunch
When: October 2025
Drag brunches are among the most popular Halloween activities in Austin. Celebrate this ghoulish season by overlooking Austin’s gorgeous skyline at the Fairmont Austin.
The event will take place from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. There will be prizes for best costume, so get your Halloween glam on! This event will be hosted by Extragrams’ favorites – Celia Light, Lawrie, Monica Monae & Tension. Performances start at 1:00pm.
13. Zaza Boozy Halloween Brunch

Hotel Zaza is inviting you to experience your Sunday Funday with their Boozy Brunch Bash. It will take place in the Gold Standard Ballroom.

If you’re looking for things to do in Austin on Halloween, Moxy will be throwing a Halloween Party on October 31! They’ll have free tarot readings by Carly from Sound Sight Tarot, free tastings by Teremana Small Batch Tequila & Jagermeister, movies (Scream 1 & Scream 2) in the Backyard, specialty cocktails, and more! 15. Upstairs at Scaroline

16. St. HELLmo Halloween Party

The St. Elmo Brewing Company is having an all day Halloween party at St. Elmo Brewing in South Austin. For the kids, they have a costume contest, trick-or-treating, free face painting, as well as arts and crafts.
The adults get to Karaoke, watch horror movies all night long, and get drink specials. Reserve your free spot.

17. Nightmare on Gibson Street
When: October 2025
One of the coolest Halloween events in Austin takes place at Gibson Street Bar every year. Get ready for this spectacularly ghoulish transformation as it becomes your worst nightmare.
Come get BOOzed up with cocktails and dance till you die the whole month of October. Nightmare on Gibson streets also hosts their official Austin Halloween party every year.

18. Upstairs at Scaroline
When: October 2025
I’ve been having a lot of fun celebrating Halloween in Austin, Texas! Upstairs at Caroline is transforming for the festivities of October.
Their patio is also dog friendly. Come enjoy a chilling cocktail menu amidst haunting decorations. This spooktacular takeover will happen the entire month of October.

19. Black Lagoon Pop Up Bar
When: October 2025
Black Lagoon is international Halloween pop-up bar. And fantastic news…
It’s coming to Austin this spooky season for the first time! It is a goth, horror inspired bar with entertainment as well as an extensive themed cocktail menu.
Some interesting things on the menu are the Book of Blood, Death Rattle and Night Crawler.
20. Ghoul at Azul
When: October 2025
If you order a Halloween themed drink at Azul Rooftop between October 24 and October 30, and get a drink coupon to use at their Halloween Party on October 31. Party goers can enjoy spooky themed drinks, a live DJ, costume contests with prizes and more.

21. Silent Disco at the Belmont
When: October 2025
Nothing compares to 6th street Halloween. This year the DJ is gonna be bringing you top Hip Hop, R&B, and EDM from the 80s, 90s and 2K.
When you arrive, you will receive a pair of special wireless headphones. You’ll also need to have your credit card on you as there is a $100 charge if you don’t return your headphones. Get your tickets to Spooky Silent Disco at the Belmont.
22. Austin Official Halloween Bar Crawl
When: October 28, 2023
Halloween in Texas is definitely different from Halloween in Chicago. This is a Halloween adult event so make sure you leave the kiddies at home. The event will take place from 5-11pm.
23. Wonder Bar ATX
This year they’re bringing all the spooky vibes with Halloween photo zones and drinks. This is definitely one of my favorite spooky things to do in Austin. There’s nothing I love more than an Instagram worthy photo in Austin.
24. The Arboretum
When: October 2025
The Arboretum is an outdoor shopping center in Austin. Their 6th annual Boo & Brew is back. They have a candy crawl, beverage samples, great music, vendor booths, and a raffle! For more information, check out the Boo & Brew event.
25. Electric Shuffle USA
When: October 2025
Electric Shuffle USA is a cocktail bar with high-tech shuffleboard. They feature great craft cocktails and boozy brunches. On the menu they’re featuring the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini, Blood Orange Margarita, and Spooky Shots.
26. Lucille’s Bar
The season is not complete without Halloween on 6th street in Austin. They have an outdoor patio that is complete with a DJ and super spooky decorations.

27. Dia De Los Muertos
When: October 2025
Mexic-Arte Museum’s 40th Annual Viva La Vida Festival and Parade is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) event. This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, October 28 at 4th Street and Congress Avenue.
This is the best Halloween parade Austin. Viva la cultura!
28. Halloween Stores in Austin
If you’re looking for great costumes, you should of course check out Spirit Halloween. They pop up once a year during spooky season. They’re definitely the best Halloween store in Austin.
